The short answer on XRP ETF approval: five US spot XRP ETFs trade today, with prospectuses filed November 13 to December 10, 2025. Canary’s XRPC came first, 21Shares’ TOXR last. CoinShares and WisdomTree, the only other filers we found, withdrew, so none is pending.
What “approved” means for an XRP ETF
On September 17, 2025 the SEC approved generic listing standards for commodity-based trust shares. That order covers the exchanges’ rules. It does not name any single XRP fund.
Under those standards an exchange can list a qualifying fund without a separate Section 19(b) rule filing. Each sponsor still needs its own registration statement to go effective. Our guide to how the SEC decides whether to approve a crypto ETF covers the older route.

The two XRP filers that never launched
CoinShares told the SEC its S-1 sought to register shares for a transaction that was “ultimately not effectuated,” and that no shares were sold. WisdomTree wrote that it had “determined not to proceed at this time,” also with no shares sold.
Both withdrawals were the sponsors’ own decisions, not SEC denials, and neither letter blames the SEC or cites a review comment. Either could refile later, and an article that still lists them as “pending” is working from old filings.
What a cleared fund still does not tell you
Effective is not endorsed. The SEC order says nothing about whether XRP is a good holding, and our Grayscale XRP ETF explainer covers what the wrapper changes for holders.
Routine filings also get mistaken for news. Bitwise filed a post-effective amendment on September 18, 2026 that folded in its 10-K and two 10-Qs and stated that no additional securities were being registered. A headline calling that a fresh approval would be wrong.
Cleared funds are also not interchangeable. Fees on the SoSoValue tracker run from 0.19% at Franklin to 0.50% at Canary.
Bitwise’s prospectus sets its net asset value by reference to the CME CF XRP-Dollar Reference Rate, so read each prospectus’s pricing section before comparing premiums or discounts.
Money flow is a separate question. SoSoValue’s dashboard showed about $1.81 billion in cumulative net inflows across the five funds on October 31, 2026, but 21Shares sat at negative $21.15 million. See how to read XRP ETF demand claims before trusting a flow headline.
How to verify an XRP ETF approval claim yourself
Run this check before you trust any article, including this one. Filing lists change, and a status read today can be out of date next quarter.
- Search the fund’s exact name on SEC EDGAR and open its filing list.
- Look for a 424B3 prospectus and an exchange step (8-A12B or CERT). An EFFECT notice also counts, but the Canary and Franklin lists we read show none.
- Confirm the ticker resolves in your own brokerage search.
- Treat a lone S-1, an S-1/A or an RW as “not live.”
XRP ETF approval questions
Is there a spot XRP ETF I can buy today?
Five are listed, from Canary’s XRPC to 21Shares’ TOXR, and the table above names each ticker. Whether your broker offers them depends on the broker, so search the ticker on your own platform. That is access information, not a recommendation.
Did the SEC approve the Grayscale XRP ETF?
The filings show an effective registration and a listed ticker, GXRP, with a prospectus dated November 24, 2025. The SEC’s September 2025 action approved generic exchange standards, not one named fund.
Are any XRP ETFs still pending?
Among the seven filers we checked, none is pending: five are effective and two withdrew. A 2026 EDGAR search for XRP S-1 filings turned up no new XRP-only fund, though a new filing can appear at any time.
